A Healing Full Moon/Eclipse Ritual & Your Inner Queen

full moon march

Happy FULL Moon and Lunar Eclipse. The energies are brewing, the cauldron is stirring, the chaos, emotions, turmoil, struggles, and calls to grow and expand are bubbling.  Our unhealed shadowy selves are called to the surface so we can free them from the cages, free them from the rapture of old wounded ways and alas heal the cuts of the past.

Just the other day while walking my dogs, I heard this strange loud chirping in the trees. I’d never heard such a strange and loud gawk from birds before and wondered what the heck was calling in such in an unusual howl.  Then I seen my dogs jumping onto the bottom of a tree while an innocent ole’ ground hound gripped on for life to a branch near the top shrieking those unusual howls.

The Ground hog tells us…(from http://www.spirit-animals.com/groundhog/)

“You are being asked to explore altered states of consciousness deeper. The answers are within you – however you just have not dug deep enough to find the root of it. Groundhog can also be letting you know that you need to pay attention to your metabolism. Be aware of how your diet influences your natural bodies cycles and to make dietary adjustments to balance the workings of your body.

Alternatively Groundhog can be giving you fair warning that you have overstepped someone boundaries or someone is overstepping yours. Best is to resolve the situation with respect and from the heart.”

This full moon is in Libra, the sign about relationships.  Throw in a lunar eclipse and the intensity quadruples.  Lunar eclipses bring endings, shifts, and sudden change.

This fits well with Ground Hog’s message about boundaries, especially concerning relationships.  For me, I have someone in my life that I must deal with who constantly pushes and tries and over step my boundaries.  But I must look at the root, at my own causal piece in this.  I get thrown off, annoyed, frustrated, even irritated.  My mind sometimes loops into his trail of chaos and un-groundedness and  I literally start spinning with him until I remember to ground, stay firm, follow the agreements.

He rages, gets annoyed, calls me down, makes me the problem. But that’s okay.  My job is to figure out my stance.  As I enter the dream world to get some guidance and Higher vision on this circumstance, I see a large yard with a short white picket fence.  This is symbolic to my boundaries…nice, small, easy to step over.  So I ask my guides, how can I prevent him from stepping over my fence.

“Build a taller, stronger fence!” they say.

Of course! Keep things firm.  Don’t compromise, don’t adjust.  Focus on my peace, my emotional well-being, not his responses.  Easier said then done.  My inner cauldron of wounds, bubble over with feelings of fear and uncertainly.  I’m uncomfortable asserting my line knowing I will be met with resistance, with push back.  I get ready, get defensive, get myself preparing for the next set of attacks.  I want this response, this pattern to end.  It’s bullshit.  So I look inward to explore where the wound is so I can make the change.

I have this lingering patterned response, a neuro-conscious response (in mind-body therapy terms) where fear pumps into my chest when I must assert myself or express that my boundary has been crossed.  I feel childlike, timid, afraid of asserting my voice, my stance.  It stems from my childhood.  I’m afraid of getting into trouble.  But this belief, is old, tiresome, out dated.

So I follow the trail to the root.  Why am I afraid to assert myself? I know it stems from my dad, as much as I love him, when I was younger he yelled a lot when I’d try and find my voice.  It made me shrink in the face of conflict, authority, or anger.  I get afraid.  But what am I afraid of?  Being rejected? Being reprimanded?  Being wrong?

I get all twisted up in another’s point of view instead of remaining grounded in my own.  I start to question my accuracy, if I’m being selfish or the purity of my intent.  I doubt myself, and my knees start to wobble, I begin to feel weak and less confident in myself and my ability to assert my boundary begins to crumble.  I give in, stay silent and cower in the face of conflict only to beat myself up for stumbling.

There’a a connection to my voice, like somehow I won’t be believed or heard or honored. inner queenThere’s an old belief that my voice won’t be listened to so I go to the extreme defense protecting myself, trying to get validated, understood, and heard from the other person. This feels like to the root of my over-active immune system (auto-immune), always on the defense, hyper-aware, hyper-vigilant for attack and I must protect myself.  But there’s a difference between being overly cautions “on the defense” with being firm, assertive, and a Queen.  Rather than protecting my fence with a metal-suited soldier, I can call upon my inner Queen to simply stand there and energetically hold her presence.  There’s no defense, there’s confidence, certainty, trust in Herself, her power, her decision.  TRUST IN HERSELF! It’s just an energy of upholding the line, not defending it.

My inner Queen says to my inner child, “Who cares!  Who cares if he rejects you, you’ve already rejected him.  He can’t reprimand you and no, your feelings are not wrong.  Do not be afraid to expect your boundaries to be respected!  That is your right.”

Expect to be respected. There is such power in that.  That is where my wound lies.  I have expected to be disrespected and prepare for this instead of standing firm in my right to be respected.  I will expect to be respected.  That just completely changes the energy of everything, don’t you think?! 🙂

“How can I feel as strong and confident as you?” my scared, child part asks my Queen.

“Put on your crown and cape little girl and believe in your own authority.”

I imagine my little girl with the crown and cape the Queen has gifted her and she feels naturally more confident and sure of herself.  She knows, she remembers, she owns that she is indeed a Queen. A Queen with power, assertion, and authority.  She commands the stage with her presence.

And so it is.

FULL MOON/ LUNAR ECLIPSE HEALING RITUAL:

Grab your journal, light a candle, put on some music and spark up an incense.  Drift inward, imagine seeing your inner child.  It’s time to dive inward to where we need balance and restoration.  It’s time to end old, wounded ways of being.

It’s time to dream, go inward and write and reflect with your magical inner world.  Get out your journals, turn on the switch to your imagination and travel into the healing gates of wonder…

1)Explore your inner parts, particularly your inner child, the wounded child.  What patterns, beliefs, wounds keep you stuck in old wounded patterns in your relationship? What does your inner child look like?  What are they wearing, what is their stance, what is their energy and presence?  What words or feelings come to mind with this part of you?

3) Think of a relationship with a certain person or people that you have been struggling with. Imagine the relationship dynamic or your presence in the relationships in the form of a landscape that reflects your boundaries and interactions within it.  What do you see and notice? What is there? What colors and images? What does this say about your patterns or wounded beliefs?

4)  Imagine seeing your inner Queen walking from her castle to this landscape. How does she move, feel and change the feeling with her presence?  What does she look like?

5) Ask her how you can heal this old pattern in your relationship or relationships and see if she will give you something, an object or objects to help you in shifting this old way of relating.

Share your experiences 🙂

And so it is!!!

This moon’s mantra.  “I assert my boundaries with ease by owning and stepping into my Inner Queen.”

12 Ways to Feel Really Alive in Everyday Life.

inspiredI’m big on making the small things big.  On stretching something ordinary into something grand to really enjoy it.  I mean, why not make everything special and extra-ordinary?  Why not enjoy the everyday stuff?  I’m trying to set-up my life where it feels like I don’t need a vacation from it.

I want my life to feel full of excitement, inspiration, joy and magic in the every day moments.  All it takes is some intention, focus and action.

So here is a list of 12 things (that’s only one a month people), of ways we can ignite the fairy glitter into the everyday. 12 ways to bring excitement, aliveness and passion into your every day life with the every day people in it.  It’s fun, easy and hopefully will get your creative, airy fairy juices going cause when you’re happy, everyone is happy.  That’s right, it’s contagious and uplifting.  So let’s uplift this place!!! 🙂

So here we go…

1)Sign-up for a class or activity that is all about fun.  Not making money, not showing off how great you are, not about moving you forward.  Do something that moves you inward, that fills your soul tank and ignites joy, peace and elation.  We are so focused on accomplishment but this task, this is about experiencing aliveness, nothing else.  Go take a painting class, an acting class, a music class, a moccasin making class…anything…cooking, cleaning, love-making.  Just do something with the intention to feed your soul, not making money or getting ahead (although I’m well aware this is very likely to be a by-product of feeding your soul, nothing but good comes from it).  🙂

2)Host a themed party with your friends and family.  In my circle, I’m known for making people play games.  I love them all…card games, board games, making up games.  Host a full blown casino night or Mexican Party night where everyone brings a Mexican dish and wears bright colors.  Host a Winnipeg Jets (our local team but choose your favorite sporting team) Party where everyone comes and watches the game dressed in team colors or jerseys. Don’t forget…it’s a potluck 🙂

3)Plan a weekend road trip somewhere with friends or the fam.  It can be local or far.  Maybe to the neighboring town or city.  Spend a night, do the local activities.  Go to the casino or winter festival or local attraction. Maybe you heard of a great ski hill or bookstore or meal somewhere.  Make that your destination. Enjoy!  Stop along the way and take some fun pics.

4)Invite your friends and family to do a 30 Day Challenge of your choice.  Pick one month in the year…Feb, March, June…whichever and have some sort of health inducing challenge.  Maybe it’s 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days or 30 days of picture taking, or 30 days of trying new recipes.  Anything, make it fun and attainable.  The goal is joy and aliveness.

5)Take a late night and moonlit walk.  If you live where there is snow, throw on some snowshoes, put on a head lamp or grab some flashlights and take a stroll.  It’s really quite blissful and magical.  I do this weekly with my dog and sometimes the hubby 🙂  To be honest, it’s kinda romantic.

6)Choose one month or even a week and have a Random Acts of Kindness challenge at work, with your family, or with friends.  Make sure to take pics and share.  Feel how good it feels to be kind and giving to others.  Buy someone in line behind you a coffee, put quarters in some shopping carts, give someone a compliment.  Bring your grandma out for lunch.  Shovel your neighbors driveways (or snow blow).  This list is endless.  Do share your ideas!!!

7)Create a romantic date night at home with the significant other in your life or have a “fancy dinner” at home with friends.  I mean go all out here…candles, table cloth, the fancy china and of course your finest clothes. Pretend your dressing for a wedding and dress to the nines.  Set the tone with Jazz tunes, dim the lights, ignite the candles.  Enjoy lusciousness. Order in, hire a private chef or have a potluck.

8)Wake up early with the fam or with friends, get a blanket coffee, muffins, donuts and watch the sun rise.

9)Grab a blanket, go outside if you can, or by a big window, grab some vino, some bubbly juice or some sparkling water and toast the sunset. Watch the magic of the day disappear and enjoy the sparkling starlight.

10)Go to a new restaurant that you’ve always wanted to try.  For me there’s this Fondue place I’ve always wanted to try just to say that I’ve been there and tried that.  It’s something different and something you wouldn’t do everyday.

11)Find a local hot spot coffee shop and invite your friends for coffee, dessert and connecting.  Indulge your senses with it all.  But really, you have to have dessert.  This is about your senses, about lusciousness, about aliveness.  I mean really, chocolate and coffee are a divine intervention in your mouth!

12)Experience the arts! Spend an evening at the art gallery or go to a play, or watch live theater.  Go to the symphony, the ballet, or a live poem night.  Trust me, this will inspire the shit out of you!! 🙂

There you go folks, one Full Blown Aliveness Challenge a month.  You got this.  Now let’s do this and do share 🙂

If you feel called, do you feel free to FOLLOW MY BLOG, I’d be so delighted.

Cheers to a magic inspired, alive, excited, happy New Year.  Woot woot!!

And so it is.

Get un-stuck with this one simple question!

inspirationReady….drum roll please…..drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
What inspires you?

What energizes you, motivates you, excites you?  What gets your engines revving?

“Inspiration is a work with a double meaning in English. It denotes both the physical inhalation phase of the breathing cycle and and the metaphysical taking in of spirit or life force.”  (Pg. 103 in the book Bodywise by Joseph Heller and William Henkin).

This is interesting isn’t it!  What inspires us can open us up, free us from our stuckness and rigidities and allow the body to receive and move more breath.  They are intertwined.  So the more inspired we are, the more inspiration we can take in, the more inspiration we have, the more our hearts open, the more our hearts open the more are hips are able to move.  The more free are hips feel, the more we can move out and about in the world.  It all starts with inspiration, that original spark in your heart.  How can we base our lives around this spark and returning to the well of sparks when we feel off or stuck.

As I’ve been struggling with stuckness this month (both boredom and not feeling well physically – and yes they do go hand in hand), I’ve asked myself what gives me inspiration.  What excites me?

-Being outside

-Moving, like exercise or playing outside

-Trying new things.

-Yoga & Spirituality.

-Creation – creating things, this really really inspires me and moves me.

-Creativity is key for me, that is what inspires me.

-Working with wood pieces, refurbishing, moving through death and rebirth in my art.

-Changing up the routine.

-Having variety.

-Coffee shops and mmm, mmm, mmm coffeeeee!!!

-Being around people.

-Talking deeply with someone who can surf the depths of life with me.

So, I notice for me creativity, connection with others and movement, actual physical movement are my top places of inspiration.

So today I had lunch with someone, went for a walk outside, went to a second hand store to browse the used furniture and was around people.  Do you know how I feel???

Great!! Energized!! Inspired!

I’ve broken through a couple blocks and I’ll celebrate that for today.

So for all my peeps who feel the same, I challenge you to do something today that inspires you.  Do something tomorrow that inspires you and the next day and the next day and see how your life changes.

And so it is!!

If you feel called, do feel free to add your email and follow the blog and connect with your wild, feminine soul!

JUST FOR TODAY…BE RADICAL ! :)

radicalBE RADICAL!

What if for you today you unleashed your radical, wild soul into the world today.  It’s a no holds bar kind of day.  Let it ooze out of you and into the wind.  Dress radically, speak radically, sing radically.  Today you bring out your wild and where it like a bright, shiny broach.  You are wild, you are tribal, you are free spirited, universe loving, wing spreading, eagle flying radical.  Bust that shit out.

Maybe today you put on that jeweled bindi you only sport around closed doors, or you wear that funky hat or you wear your beads, stones and scarf.  Or today you just walk with radical, wild energy, not taming or shaming it but embracing it like it were your secret weapon and holy gift.

What if you lived today not hiding your radical, wild self?

What is different about how you go about your day?  Name it, describe it, tell us how you did it.

How do people respond?

Own your wild, free, radical self and just see what the universe has in store for you!

Blessings and light

Feed Your Soul & Celebrate the Unsung Heroic Women in Our Lives

goddess4

MAKING SACRED ART FOR THE UNSUNG HEROES IN OUR LIVES.

I’m inspired to share with you the weekly Feed Your Soul creative activity.  I’ve attached the link below with the full article that inspired this activity.  Basically this Divine woman by the name of Angela Yarber creates sacred art and paints everyday women, (unsung heroes she calls them) into Holy Women Icon paintings.  Isn’t that beautiful!!!!  We need to celebrate the women in our lives who nurture us, make our lives more beautiful with decorating or expressing their creativity in the kitchen or in our homes, the women who teach us how to love and create, or the women who fight for us in the courtrooms or tend to our wounds in our medical facilities.  Whatever it is, lets celebrate the beauty of Feminine in our lives.

My mom is really on my mind with this creative expression.  I’m not sure she can see her beauty.  She is the most thoughtful and kind woman I know.  She has such an innocence and purity about her that is un-canning.  Rare these days.  She is childlike, curious, innocent, shy….I plan to paint a goddess for her that to me represents her Essence, it will be called the Goddess of Innocence & Giving Love.  I will write words or aspects of her loving soul I appreciate and experience on the painting.  I may simply collage images and write a story in the back of it as well.

For me this process and these creations resonate in so may ways.  I had the honor of getting my spirit name through some ceremonies with Elders in my community.  However, many people don’t have this opportunity.  Yet, many of us can see the gifts and soul beauty of those around us that often we need not a ceremony to tell us the gifts of our soul, our loved one’s can!

So, why not paint our loved ones in a goddess image or as Angela Yarber does in the format of Holy Woman Icon and gift them with the reflection of their own soul beauty.  So often, the nurturing, loving, creative women in our lives are left unsung, unrecognized or un-celebrated.  Let’s change that story already!!!!  Let’s honor and celebrate such beautiful feminine gifts in our lives.  Let’s celebrate the women and men for who they are at their cores.

You can collage images and write a poem or short story expressing their gifts and soul beauty.   I’m obsessed with painting goddesses lately so for me this will translate into goddess forms. And yet as I write this I’m inspired to make warrior images for my husband and son.  These can make great holiday or birthday gifts!!  Some women do this as gifts for their daughters at their first moon time, or for their mothers at retirement or just to celebrate unique, amazing women that support us in many different ways.

As you do this, remember that everyone we paint is also a reflection of ourselves and our own beauty.  I too challenge you to do this project for your own soul.  You must also create one for yourself 😉   List five things you love and appreciate about yourself and why……now explore how those wonderful things can become your Goddess reflection or Sacred Woman Icon. Ask your loved one’s what words they’d use to describe you.  Which ones resonate the most or comes up the most?  Indulge yourself and celebrate your unsung soul beauty!!  Please share on the Facebook Page.
