A “Writing Wild” Exercise to Free Your Caged Soul

This day 5 of the 30 Day Wildly, Luscious, Soulful Living Challenge (found here, join us anytime).caged soul

Today we return to the writing circle, cast our questions into the sky and allow the universal energies to guide us as our pens hit the pages for revolutionary writing and Sacred Expression. Hallelujah!

It is a bit of a difficult time for many folks, the energies are forcing out the dark, unheard, unmet energies within.  The soul is howling for release.  She wants out on the soul path, she wants out in your life.  She wants to howl, roam, play and dance like She’s never been allowed to before.

The time is now.  We are in the pressure cooker between the eclipses, the emotional guck is oozing out for release, for deep and lasting healing so get your hands dirty and clean out the guck in those sore spots.  Ooze your stuff onto the pages, paint, dance, scream, howl or run it out. Know it intimately like it were your teacher, a sacred messenger freeing your soul from the shackles of your ego mind.  You want out, you want freedom, you want alive, scrumptious joy.  So have at her and listen to the gloom for it shall guide you home.

So many of us are feeling the bondage of living without the luscious, juicy taste of of our wild natures in our lives.   We feel it in our restlessness, sadness, despair even doom.  We feel an inner ache, deep in our bones of wanting change, wanting to get out, want to be free and enjoy life….not just get up, go to mundane work, pay the bills and repeat.  Life is luscious, meant to be indulged, enjoyed, enveloped with magic, filled with bright pink clouds and rainbows.  But the repeat and auto-pilot button get’s us caged, rattled, even ravenous for freedom.  This is the territory of self-sabotage, addictions, depression, and doom.

We need to bust out, we need to dance with the Divine and allow our souls to emerge in our lives.  But how you ask?

What are your passions?  What lights you up light a bright green exploding firecracker on a dark moon night sky?  What makes you laugh?  What makes your toes curl with pleasure?  What feeds you so much you can go days between doses?

Some of us will be able to make livings off of our passions, some of us will dive into our passions after work or on our lunch hours, we must make the time.  Make it a delicious game in and of itself, how can you squeeze in your soul song, your passionate soul feeding hobby or activity that lights you like a beacon?  How shall you squeeze it in?  It’s a sacred dance between our sometimes mundane, yet life sustaining responsibilities and our need for free spirited play.  Each day is challenge for you to find a way to do the dance between the worlds.  Each day is a sacred opportunity to start anew.  Make it a fun game.

In the end, the point is to live in the lightning rod of aliveness and in the radiant joy of electric neon colors.   We need to make space for this in our life, whether we do it for a living or not.  The universe doesn’t care for your job title or role, She cares if you make space dance in the wild rain, or if you stroll in the alive and living forest, or if you play in the mossy green grass.  She cares if you seen the glorious sunset or did you drive on right by it.  She cares if you drink in the moments, even if it’s just for minutes.  She challenges you to expand it in your everyday life….how can you let the rainbows in?

Plug in, indulge, delight, nourish your souls by taking the first step and begin to see where you want to go…  We will work some more with these energies for the next few days as well.

So get your pens out.  It’s time for Writing Wild Step 1.MAGIC DUST

Light a candle, put on some sweet tunes, light an incense and set your timers for 5 minutes.  Set it and repeat for each question.  Don’t lift your pen off the page for 5 minutes, just keep writing, flow, swim, float along with the words and see where you end up after the timer.

I just came into your life with a magic wand and blew some magic dust on you.  I gave you the magic gift of doing anything. You get to create your life how you want it exactly.  You get to live with wild, free, magic gold dust spread all around….what would your life look like?

What would you be doing?  What would happen in your day?  Who is with you?  What is different?

And go………………………soar into the unknown territory of you magic and let the gold dust speak.

Wildly, Luscious, Soulful Living Day 2 – Expressing A Bit of Our Wild

expressing our wildGood morning!  This is Day 2 of the 30 Day Wildly, Luscious, Soulful Living Challenge.  (Click here for details and join us anytime).

All right folks, we are going to up the ante today.  I want you to take some deep breaths, close your eyes, and imagine yourself at your raw, wild, free, colorful self.  Your bright, your beautiful, your glorious, you shine like the stars and have an aura of gold dust.  Breathe it in, feel this wild, soulful, luscious soul held inside your body.  Soften your body so she can gently ooze her energy out.

Move your arms and let her flow, move your legs and let them glide across the floor like each step were a sacred dance.

What does she feel like?

Who are you at your wild?

What are you wearing?

How long is your hair, what color is it?

What type of clothes are you wearing?

Are they flowing fabrics or buck skins?

What color are they?

What’s on your face?  Any jewelry?  Paint lines? Bindi’s?  Jewels?

Just let your imagination soar!!  When you have a solid image of your wild, luscious, radiant feminine soul, journal about it or doodle an image in representation.

SACRED TASK OF THE DAY –  A PEEP OF WILD!

Today we are going to pay homage to that inner Feminine Divine and sport a unique piece of clothing like a funky hat, or some wild shoes, or a bold scarf like it were an offering to the Divine Mother herself.  Or you can you wear some bright, bold lipstick, or some extra glittery eyelashes, whatever it is you are allowing yourself to leak out a piece of your wild.  You can wear a flower in your hair or a great big bow, or maybe a flowing skirt, anything that unites you your Inner Wild Feminine Soul.  This is a sacred act, a prayer in the form of sacred expression.  When I go into ceremonies the colors and garments I wear are important, intentional, expressive.  This is the same, this is a ceremony into your everyday life.  It is bringing the Sacred here, right now, as though expressing your soul was the most honoring and loving act you can do.  The world needs your color and joy so radiate it, baby!  As you meander through your day, notice how you feel revealing a piece of your wild.  Let it be the grounding stone to your tribal, wild soul.

Do you feel confident?

Are you feeling vulnerable?

Can you enjoy this small risk of expression of your soul out into the world?

Journal about your observations and share your experiences in Feed Your Feminine Soul Group or The Women’s Tribe Facebook page.

Have some fun with this, it’s a releasing and celebrating and enjoying your wild, feminine roots.  Can’t wait to hear your experiences. Post some pics of what you wore or how you celebrated your wild today in your clothing or accessories 🙂

30 Days of Wildly, Luscious, Soulful Living – You in??

divineIn Manitoba, Canada we got hit with a snow storm.  It was after all the snow had melted and it seemed as though spring had sprung, albeit a little earlier than usual.  Then the snow….oh the snow.  Since the dumping of the cold, crisp white on top the emerging and awakening grass, I thought about how much it reflected my own internal experience.  I was excited for the new beginnings, the awakenings, the re-birthing that was occurring.  And then… stuckness.  It’s been halted by the old, stagnating, stalled, slowed down into inertia old story.  I have felt a great inner restless and boredom, like I’m being confined in stuckness, shackled into immobilization and separated from the new.

Anna Merkaba from Sacred Ascension writes, “…I would like to point out to all of you that the next few days leading up to this blood moon may see you incredibly conflicted. All of your old memories and RE-Actions are going to come back, you may feel as if all the work that you have done on yourself is slipping way from you and you are right back to square one.

However, that is absolutely NOT what is happening. Simply the last ounces of “dirty water” are being squeezed right out of you. Brought up for you to deal with finally, and use all that you have learnt up to this point to SHIFT your focus onto the POSITIVE. ( https://sacredascensionmerkaba.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/blood-moon-freedom-portal-urgent-message-to-ground-crew-galactics/)

So here I am and likely many of you dealing with the final shackles of the old, breaking them completely away, healing the wounds on our wrists where the old gripped us with pain paralysis and prevented from moving forward on the soul path.  I must say there are great gifts that come with restlessness and conflicts, even stuckness.  It’s a great catalyst for change, when things finally feel so yucky, so incredibly heavy and reckless on the inside we create a plan.  We get busy making changes to get out of it.  It can set us forward, so there are gifts from the fear and despair in the lost tunnel of the old.  New creation can come from friction.

In light of this I’m going to share my process of 30 Days of  Wild, Luscious Soulful Living, a commitment to engage and move into the world and in my life as my wild, free, tribal soul.  It’s a commitment of aliveness and connection to my Sacred Feminine core.  It’s a shift of thinking, of intention and of experience.  Will you join me and participate to committing to your Sacred Feminine soul, dying to come out and dance and play and indulge in the extraordinary senses of living on the planet?  Why not!   I’ll share my daily exercises, writing prompts and rituals to Tap Into Your Wild.  So feel free to jump into your Feminine Wild Roots with me!!!!

****My friends, be sure to join the mailing list if you haven’t already because I don’t want you miss out on any of the the daily activities to ignite your wild! 🙂  ***

So let’s start, today with 30 Days of Wildly Luscious Soulful Living and shake off the stagnation remnants of the old guck.  Yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I’m not asking to go and act out and be wild and crazy, no no no.  It’s a commitment to uniting with your Wild, Feminine, Tribal soul that sits waiting for you in your gut.  It can be found and experienced through transformational writing, meditation, dance, ritual, sacred art, sacred tasks, activities.  It can be found in a gratitude list, or the caress of the warm sun on your chilly cheeks.  It can be found in cooking with music and dance as part of the ingredient list.

So then What is the Sacred Feminine, What is it like to live Wildly, Lusciously, Soulfully?

It is an experiencing and embracing of your wild, primal, tribal nature.  It is a following of your alive instincts, your wild animal self, guiding you through inner knowing, emotion, intuition and gut feeling.  It is the language of the divine, found in your body.  You are the Divine and the Divine is you.  It is an awakening of your wild feminine and owning it, celebrating it like it was your birthright to feel, to intuit, to create, to nurture.  You are made of this wild feminine dust, you are meant to roar with the big dogs, to howl like wolves, to move like the wind.  You were meant to live your life, wildly awake, thirsting for life force energy that awakens your blood.  You awake through creating, through dancing, through intention.  You were meant to follow the drum beat into the forest and twirl like the fairies while standing as solid and firm as oak trees.  This is your birthright…you are born wild, fierce, strong, free.  Bring your wild into your home, bring your wild into your parenting and indulge yourself in your presence, in consciousness, in everyday living, sucking the juice from the fruit of life. Do what you want to do, creativity is your bridge, your gateway to uniting the mundane with your wild.   Paint a colorful paintbrush on your life and bring passion, aliveness and celebration in your life.

Stayed tuned for Wildly Luscious Living -Day 1 Task coming up!  (Make sure to add your email to make sure you get all 30 days of it. Join the Women’s Tribe Facebook Page to stay posted on upcoming events and info as well.

Let’s get wild!!!

3 Invigorating Equinox Rituals – Indulge in the Energies.

Happy Spring Equinox !!equinox image

The last couple of weeks things have been a shit show with stuff haven’t they? However, even though we went through the valley of the shadow of death, we came out okay in the end didn’t we…didn’t we??!! 😉

This change of season feels somewhat energetically intense yet the shift feels like it will be gentle.

It’s time to make a change, start that new beginning, dare to dream big.  Take the leap of faith and walk upon an unknown or new path.  Maybe there will be a new baby with this new moon, a new job, a new opportunity or new person in your life.  Something new is on the horizon, fresh out of the gates.

So, enjoy the spring equinox, the change into a new cycle, a new forward movement and ending of the last cycle.  This is the time baby, get out there, try something…do something different…take a risk!  Apply for that new job, ask someone out on a date, start a project or goal you’ve been putting off.  Get out there and DO IT! The time is now.

I pulled a card for this time yesterday and it is bang on Divine.  It’s the Destiny or card or in traditional decks the Wheel of Fortune card.   “Good luck and good fortune are now in your favor.  A cycle of change, success, and growth is imminent.” (It says from the Psychic Tarot Deck by John Holland).  Can I get a “hell yeah”?!  Hell yeah!!

“Believe in destiny as you learn to let go of old issues.”   If you have done your work, sorted through the stuff, good luck, good energy, new opportunities will find you and knock on your door.  All you have to do is be open enough to receive them.  Believe you are worthy, know that destiny is at play here and your soul path is being revealed.  Let the light shine brightly on the path ahead, see it and start walking on it…it is finally time!!  Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Some New Moon & Equinox Ritual Ideas:  Movement is key this month.spring2

  • In many yoga circles they welcome the seasonal shifts with 108 sun salutations. Now that’s a lot and perhaps we can’t do that many but if you enjoy yoga, perhaps do a sun salutation facing all directions.   Start in the South and make your way West, North and then finally East.   As we are in a Solar eclipse that usually heralds, new beginnings and abrupt changes, let’s honor the sun with this sun salutation sequence.yoga sequence
  • Take a sun walk. (okay I totally made this term up but…roll with me).  Take a stroll outside in the evening in walk in a giant circle, honoring and reflecting on the seasons of change and the transit of the sun.  Be sure to walk in a clock wise direction and if you can, start in the south direction.  Maybe walk around a track or even a trail or around your house.  If you’re up for it, do four laps or circles to honor all directions.  As you walk reflect on changes, new beginnings and dedicate yourself to Earth Mother for spring and Grandmother Moon.  Imagine conversing with their energies like they were Sacred Beings as you walk.  What do they have to offer you during this cycle of change.
  • Last but not least…DANCE! I love this one song called Janjara by James Asher.  Let your feet be drums on the Earth and dance in a circular manner.  Again swirl in a clock wise direction and just let your soul move your body.  This is a new moon and new cycle dance, an honoring of the seasonal and lunar shifts.  Allow it to flow out naturally, close your eyes and simply move how your body wants.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bafvarg08lM

February New Moon Ritual – What’s in Your Medicine Bowl?

bowlsHello Sunshine! What a wonderful, cold, crisp, morning here in the middle of Canada.  Ahhh….the new moon.   Welcome!

Did you feel the dark moon energies last night?  I feel a pull to share quickly about the dark moon, the nights just before the new moon when the moon is at it’s darkest.   Try and become aware of the moon cycle and notice that the three days preceding it.  You may notice a need for a slower pace, we are likely lower energy, more reflective, a desire to move more inward, in the dark caves within where dreams, inspiration and new seeds of ideas are calling to be seen and heard.  If we don’t take some still moments witnessing the inner dreams or journaling about them we will tend to feel restless, agitated, even annoyed with our family members and ourselves.  Answer the call withing.  It is a time to take some stillness and go inward, light a candle and journal even if it’s just five minutes.  I didn’t create space or time to do so and my poor hubby got the sharp edges of my agitation as a result. Oopsy! I desired to go inward and I did not make the space for it….so learn from my mistakes and join me in the dark moon energies each month, plan for it and unite with Grandmother Moon and her cycles.  We feel best in union with these energies, it is in our ancestral blood.

Back to the New Moon.  This is an interesting New Moon, it emerges in the last degree of Aquarius before moving into Pisces right after the beginning of the New moon.

Cafe Astrology writes, “A New Moon brings a fresh start, but as it occurs so late in the sign of Aquarius, there can be a real sense of urgency to make a quick decision or to end a matter so we can move forward. All New Moons are impulsive, and this one may be especially so.”  (www.cafeastrology.com)

I too sense a real sudden shift, like a quick closing of a door that we were once standing in the threshold of, unsure if we should go back in the doorway or move away from it.  Now we choose, we close the door and run confidently and freely away of what was.  It’s the point of death and birth, the place where the spark of creation emerges.  Like a lightning bolt, death and life occur simultaneously…an ending happens so the new path and new beginning actually takes shape.  It’s powerful and transformative.  It’s swift and sudden, like here we are suddenly emerged in something new.  It’s fresh.

There’s real healing happening here, like we can really begin to see a new life, a new future, a new way of being.  We are heeding the vision, we can see it and feel it.  It’s dancing itself it alive within us.  We are getting real clear on the vision, we can see it in our medicine bowls.  So this is our New Moon Ritual and task at hand this month.

New Moon Ritual:

Light a candle or two and some incense.  Put on some tunes, build the energy of your space to be joyous and sacred…magical.  Take a few deep breaths.  Gather your journal, a pen or pencil and some paper you can draw on.  Get out some markers or crayons.  Imagine your page is a giant medicine bowl, glistening with water.  It wants to show you yourself at your most Divine, your most united with Spirit.  What are you doing?  Who are you with?  What fulfills you and sustains you? What images do you see?  What are you doing while you fulfill your life’s purpose or doing what fills your soul?  Create a giant circle representative of the medicine bowl and just start doodling images or words naturally and let the vision emerge on its own (this is what I do). Simply symbolically represent what you want to be doing this month.  What are you’re goals?  Draw yourself doing it (it need not be pretty, just symbolic) and then write an affirmation with the image… I am leading a spirituality class, I am connecting with a circle of women…etc. etc.

I feel like each day this moon cycle we need to commit to a daily ritual of joy.  What can that be for you?  Dancing comes to mind for me, well music actually, but also meditative dancing, like it were a sacred act, a prayer to the Divine.  This month if you can, each day choose a song you love (or repeat songs) and close your eyes and let your body move with the music. Do it alone so you are not worried about what you look like or invite your kiddos to do the same cause this is pure bliss and fun.  Just start by connecting with your wild, primal nature within, feel it awakening gently.  Can you let her just guide your movements.  It’s an expansion, like a gentle opening of the arms, chest, moving circularly, opening, expanding….releasing the energy within to the outside.  But start slow, like a gentle awakening, perhaps like a butterfly in cocoon, gently awakening for the first week gentle, expansive movements.  Remember, keep your eyes closed and visualize yourself in the cocoon, beginning to awaken, beginning to move your wings, your body, awakening from a deep sleep.  Start there week one and I’ll post more next week.  It’s a movement meditation, feel joyful, alive, connected as you move your soul.

And so it is.  Happy New Moon & Visioning!

To Whom It May Concern – I have a Week to Live (A Writing Exercise)

Hi Friends.  I’m doing this writing class right now and the just of the question is…Write a letter or a story or a poem in your last week to live.  What would you say?  What words do you want to leave behind…

joyThis is what I said….

To Whom it May Concern,

Turns out I have about a week to live.  Life kind of flashes before your eyes as you approach death’s door and it’s interesting to think about what you’ll take with you to the other side.

Much of my teen years and twenties were spent trying to become something.  I felt this pull to do better, do more, achieve, achieve, achieve like it were a drug that fed my worth and my ability live life.  I sought out titles and medals for accolades because it was the only way I knew how to fill my bucket.  I needed things, recognition, celebration and external success to feel good enough.  It’s a cultural phenomenon so who can really blame me.

But in my late twenties and early thirties I learned a different way of being.   Life knocked me down off my high horse so I could see the beauty of the underworld.   I learned the gift of just Being…and to unite with my wild, colorful, tribal roots.  It was my connection to my wild soul that was really the secret to life all along.  I felt full for the first time ever, not from the outside but from within.  It wasn’t a desperate reaching for something outside of me in order to feel loved or good enough, it was a natural oozing out of my Source, a release, a letting go of all the shiny beams I was holding inside.  I didn’t have to do a darn thing.  I beamed light because I was light.  I had danced in it, swirled through the hoops of its’ company and I leaked out golden rays of life in my world.  My bucket was finally full because I released who I really was out of me and into the outside world.  It never really was about becoming anything, but Being myself at the Sacred.  It was about enjoying the Sacred in every possible moment in my life, even if it were doing dishes or running a cleansing bath for my son.  I approached each task like it were an active prayer.

I learned to soak in the energy, the magic of the moment like were a sponge and ring it out into my world.  I absorbed all life had to offer me by feeling it and rolling in it like it were a colorful explosion of dust on the ground.  My pen was my gateway between the worlds, inner reflection and outer resolution, it were really a life line to my Divine.  I have nothing left unsaid, unfelt or untouched for I have loved every moment, even when I didn’t think I did.  I see how all the crooked trails, all the painful sorrows, were all part of this life’s equation, to come to the answer of a life filled with love, Being and connected to my wild.

So as I sit and reflect what I will take with me to the other side it is not roles or titles or accomplishments, it is my son’s smile, the pulsating high of endorphins that rattle my chest because of the love I have experienced with my husband.  I will take the still moments when the moon shone brightly in the dark night sky, or the gift I received in seeing the beautiful crystallized snowflake on my dog’s nose.  I will take the soft caress of the wind on my face and the warmth of the sun against my cold skin.  I will bring home the magic that this life had to offer and I will gallop on my wild horse to the gates of the other world.  Look for a trail of golden dust, it shall sparkle in the sky as I paint colorful clouds all the way there.

For whoever reads this note, this last little bit of sharing I have left, start Being in your life. Focus less on becoming something and plant your feet right in the sacred moment, the exact pearl you are standing in the thread of life and indulge joyously in the crisp, juicy taste of its magic.  It is Divine all around, soak it in.  Life is art baby, go live it!

And so it is.

“Have You Become the Woman You Want To Be?”

womaniwnat tobeI was up early this morning and got a chance to watch the 6 am Super Soul Sunday air on the OWN channel.  One of my favorite author’s Sue Monk Kidd was her guest, what a treat!  If you haven’t read any of her work I highly recommend you do.  My favorites are Dance of the Dissident Daughter and Traveling with Pomegranates.  Although, she is most known for her novel, The Secret Life of Bees, my favorites are still her more autobiographical work and reflections.

Anyhow, in the interview Oprah asks her, “Have you Become the Woman You Want to Be?”

Jolt!! That question stunned me into paralysis like a gun to the temple.

And so I share with you the question and encourage you to make a journal entry answering Oprah’s stun gun of a question.  Just let the pen ride and let her take you to where she needs to go…flow….just flow.  Follow the tide inward and let Her emerge…  Put your timers on for a glorious 8 minutes and go!

If you’d like to get more Feed Your Feminine Soul activities join the Group here and be sure to Follow The Blog to make sure you get all the soul food bundles.  🙂

Here’s my entry….

For me, this past year was quite something.  I have been off sick from work for a year now, low energy and with a blood disorder.  It literally forced me to sit in beingness not doingness.  I went from living a fast paced life as a single mother with a full-time job, a two-hour commute, and a to do list a mile long while running full speed on a quarter tank of gas, to stopped in my track stillness.  Stopped…almost dead… into sit and rest stillness.  I’ve been turned upside down, flipped around, turned inside out and it is there, in that place, upside down, dangling from the rope of my old life, feet up to the sky, swaying with uncertainty and the unknown that I came face to face with the woman I want to be.  She’s tribal, primal, naked, raw, alive, loud, vivacious, emotional, colorful, reflective, intuitive, in union with herself, with the Creator and with her tribe.  She’s fierce and soft, gentle and bold. She’s marked with tribal lines across her face and her hair is long and wild.  She’s confident and assured in herself and its beautiful.  She’s in union with her Feminine nature, allowing her tribal DNA to emerge and express itself in her life and she follows her tribal, primal instincts. As I hang upside from the overturn of my life, our eyes meet as we look to each other face to face, me upside down hanging and her looking up from the inward life of my inner cave.  I have reached my hand to her and she’s reached hers to me.

I have always got a sense of worth out of my doingness, that’s the culture we live in.  I’ve got ego strokes from my job titles or sport accomplishments, or my superwoman mask who has overdoing super powers and does life and a high pace velocity. But, this year, I can say in doing almost nothing because I couldn’t, in sitting and being, writing and creating emotional expressions, I am on my way to becoming the woman I want to be.  I was brought home to my own original nature, pure, and feminine, inward and reflective.  I am far more authentic, real, and honest to myself because I have nothing else to do but listen, learn, and experience what it is.  I feel like I have taken off the final mask and finally showed my real face.   As I removed it I felt vulnerable, even fearful, ready for rejection and humiliation.  And yet, I am just sitting here, mask removed not really caring about how another feels about but instead, how I can continue to create my life so I can live without it for good.

I can say I am less people-pleasing and more able to tend to myself and my own needs first while actually being okay with that.  I am in the nitty, gritty of my emotions and they are honest and real and I tend to them…usually.  I’ve been stripped down from all I have known, all titles, roles, activities and into my Feminine Core where my intuition, emotions and creative needs have been sitting and waiting for me and I have bravely and sometimes reluctantly tended to them.  I wouldn’t make the space for them in my life, so they made space for me in my life to tend to them.

So here I am meeting myself in the raw.  I watch as my heart’s needs and desires show up and I can choose to reflect or turn away from them.  I can choose to release them or deny them.  Have a wine or write.   I am a woman in process, a woman working hard to be authentic by being present to her inner world and daring to walk in union, not separation, with that world. It takes guts and it ain’t easy!  I have been trained to sell myself out, to flick the switch off to what is occurring within to get shit done or because it was easier to say yes when I really wanted to say no.  I instead want to live in honor to myself by honoring and expressing my needs and emotions, using my voice, saying no and doing what I want to do simply cause I want to do it.  I don’t want to reject and deny myself anymore because others are more comfortable when I do.  I want to make space for the whisper in my gut that says I want more.  I want to live more wildly, more freely in union with my tribal, primal roots and play way more often.  I want to be less serious and more silly.  I want to make and take my own sacred time for myself, my own inner union and not abandon that time because somebody else needs me.   I’m on my way to becoming that woman…still practicing to keep united and not abandon the inner sea just for the comforts of validation and acceptance from another. What a ride, what a process.  Here I am still wavering at sea, riding the tides and looking less at the shore.

Aho! And so it is.

Feed Your Soul & Celebrate the Unsung Heroic Women in Our Lives

goddess4

MAKING SACRED ART FOR THE UNSUNG HEROES IN OUR LIVES.

I’m inspired to share with you the weekly Feed Your Soul creative activity.  I’ve attached the link below with the full article that inspired this activity.  Basically this Divine woman by the name of Angela Yarber creates sacred art and paints everyday women, (unsung heroes she calls them) into Holy Women Icon paintings.  Isn’t that beautiful!!!!  We need to celebrate the women in our lives who nurture us, make our lives more beautiful with decorating or expressing their creativity in the kitchen or in our homes, the women who teach us how to love and create, or the women who fight for us in the courtrooms or tend to our wounds in our medical facilities.  Whatever it is, lets celebrate the beauty of Feminine in our lives.

My mom is really on my mind with this creative expression.  I’m not sure she can see her beauty.  She is the most thoughtful and kind woman I know.  She has such an innocence and purity about her that is un-canning.  Rare these days.  She is childlike, curious, innocent, shy….I plan to paint a goddess for her that to me represents her Essence, it will be called the Goddess of Innocence & Giving Love.  I will write words or aspects of her loving soul I appreciate and experience on the painting.  I may simply collage images and write a story in the back of it as well.

For me this process and these creations resonate in so may ways.  I had the honor of getting my spirit name through some ceremonies with Elders in my community.  However, many people don’t have this opportunity.  Yet, many of us can see the gifts and soul beauty of those around us that often we need not a ceremony to tell us the gifts of our soul, our loved one’s can!

So, why not paint our loved ones in a goddess image or as Angela Yarber does in the format of Holy Woman Icon and gift them with the reflection of their own soul beauty.  So often, the nurturing, loving, creative women in our lives are left unsung, unrecognized or un-celebrated.  Let’s change that story already!!!!  Let’s honor and celebrate such beautiful feminine gifts in our lives.  Let’s celebrate the women and men for who they are at their cores.

You can collage images and write a poem or short story expressing their gifts and soul beauty.   I’m obsessed with painting goddesses lately so for me this will translate into goddess forms. And yet as I write this I’m inspired to make warrior images for my husband and son.  These can make great holiday or birthday gifts!!  Some women do this as gifts for their daughters at their first moon time, or for their mothers at retirement or just to celebrate unique, amazing women that support us in many different ways.

As you do this, remember that everyone we paint is also a reflection of ourselves and our own beauty.  I too challenge you to do this project for your own soul.  You must also create one for yourself 😉   List five things you love and appreciate about yourself and why……now explore how those wonderful things can become your Goddess reflection or Sacred Woman Icon. Ask your loved one’s what words they’d use to describe you.  Which ones resonate the most or comes up the most?  Indulge yourself and celebrate your unsung soul beauty!!  Please share on the Facebook Page.
