June New Moon Ritual. Cleansing & a Turtle.

junenewmoon2.jpgHappy New Moon Friends!

Well this is an interesting New Moon, usually new moons are about setting new intentions, staring new beginnings…but this one feels like we must clear out the old energies first.  This New Moon feels like a festive time to clean the air.

I pulled a Native Spirit card for this one and got the Smudging ceremony.  It reads..

Let go of the past.  Purify.  Detox.  Release whatever doesn’t serve you or support you in your life.  Cleanse your body and your environment by doing space clearing and clutter clearing.  Let go of the old, discarded, and unused to make way for new energy and new beginnings.  Eat lightly, drink lots of fresh water, and consume food with strong life force energy.

I feel prickly on this New Moon, that person in my life who I must continue to deal with continues to be a thorn at my side. I don’t want to be thrown off kilter or even annoyed at his continual games or boundary attacks.  Lately I’ve just avoided conversation and confrontation with him because it’s pointless he doesn’t hear me, he doesn’t respect my point of view of concerns. It feels like a waste of time.  But what my guides have shown me that it is not, it is not a waste of time for myself.  I must use my voice for me, regardless of his response.  I must use communication not silence to hold my line.  I must be clear and put the line in the sand for myself, energetically, emotionally, and out of my own self-love and respect.

And wouldn’t you know it today of all days, on this glorious New Moon cycle our turtle showed up to lay her eggs. She shows up yearly.  The turtle is the “personification of goddess energy and the eternal Mother from which our lives evolve.” (Jamie Sams, pg 77 Medicine Cards).

“Like Turtle, you also have shields that protect you from hurt, envy, jealousy, and the unconsciousness of others…If you are bothered by the actions or words of others, it is time to go inside yourself and honor your feelings.  If you are attacked, it is time to give a warning snap.” (Pg. 77 Medicine Cards).

New Moon Ritual:  (Picture of my dog and actual turtle in our yard).turtle

Just imagine a protective tortoise shell around you when around those prickly people who bug or irritate your energy field.  Doesn’t that feel nice?  Check in with yourself, and explore your feelings. Sit with your own inner guidance on how to manage this energy.  Imagine that the turtle, the Great Goddess energy, is sitting beside you.  Become the turtle, feel the energy, feel the shield of Her shell, feel the power of her snap, feel her connection to the Earth Mother.  And then return to yourself.  Talk to the turtle, imagine in she were a loving and wise being, sent to give you a message for this New Moon, about clearing up old energy, old patterns, old ways, so you can create new ones.  What does she say or what image or object does she give you to offer her message?

To me she says…You can be calm and cool, grounded and collected.  But don’t put up with no shit.  Don’t fall into silence.  Speak your truth and snap back when you need. You are the gatekeeper of your energy field, protect it.  Honor it.  It is your health.”

What I notice about the turtle too is that she is not aggressive in her stance, she is the epitome of calm, patient, even kind.  Yet she is firm and strong and protective when she needs, when her boundary, her lines of safety or respect have been crossed, she will come out and snap at whatever is threatening her.  She is not vicious but wise and ancient.

On this new Moon, I invite you to open the windows, let the New Moon winds cleanse your home, light incense or smudge. Vacuum, dust, wash the floors, get rid of that old energy.  Take out the garbage and the donation pile to the donation centre. Cleanse and purify the old as homage to the New lurking around waiting for the space to enter.  Tie up old ways.

As always, feel free to FOLLOW THE BLOG, I’d be honored and humbled.

And so it is.

Happy energy cleansing and if need be snapping on this New Moon.

A Healing Full Moon/Eclipse Ritual & Your Inner Queen

full moon march

Happy FULL Moon and Lunar Eclipse. The energies are brewing, the cauldron is stirring, the chaos, emotions, turmoil, struggles, and calls to grow and expand are bubbling.  Our unhealed shadowy selves are called to the surface so we can free them from the cages, free them from the rapture of old wounded ways and alas heal the cuts of the past.

Just the other day while walking my dogs, I heard this strange loud chirping in the trees. I’d never heard such a strange and loud gawk from birds before and wondered what the heck was calling in such in an unusual howl.  Then I seen my dogs jumping onto the bottom of a tree while an innocent ole’ ground hound gripped on for life to a branch near the top shrieking those unusual howls.

The Ground hog tells us…(from http://www.spirit-animals.com/groundhog/)

“You are being asked to explore altered states of consciousness deeper. The answers are within you – however you just have not dug deep enough to find the root of it. Groundhog can also be letting you know that you need to pay attention to your metabolism. Be aware of how your diet influences your natural bodies cycles and to make dietary adjustments to balance the workings of your body.

Alternatively Groundhog can be giving you fair warning that you have overstepped someone boundaries or someone is overstepping yours. Best is to resolve the situation with respect and from the heart.”

This full moon is in Libra, the sign about relationships.  Throw in a lunar eclipse and the intensity quadruples.  Lunar eclipses bring endings, shifts, and sudden change.

This fits well with Ground Hog’s message about boundaries, especially concerning relationships.  For me, I have someone in my life that I must deal with who constantly pushes and tries and over step my boundaries.  But I must look at the root, at my own causal piece in this.  I get thrown off, annoyed, frustrated, even irritated.  My mind sometimes loops into his trail of chaos and un-groundedness and  I literally start spinning with him until I remember to ground, stay firm, follow the agreements.

He rages, gets annoyed, calls me down, makes me the problem. But that’s okay.  My job is to figure out my stance.  As I enter the dream world to get some guidance and Higher vision on this circumstance, I see a large yard with a short white picket fence.  This is symbolic to my boundaries…nice, small, easy to step over.  So I ask my guides, how can I prevent him from stepping over my fence.

“Build a taller, stronger fence!” they say.

Of course! Keep things firm.  Don’t compromise, don’t adjust.  Focus on my peace, my emotional well-being, not his responses.  Easier said then done.  My inner cauldron of wounds, bubble over with feelings of fear and uncertainly.  I’m uncomfortable asserting my line knowing I will be met with resistance, with push back.  I get ready, get defensive, get myself preparing for the next set of attacks.  I want this response, this pattern to end.  It’s bullshit.  So I look inward to explore where the wound is so I can make the change.

I have this lingering patterned response, a neuro-conscious response (in mind-body therapy terms) where fear pumps into my chest when I must assert myself or express that my boundary has been crossed.  I feel childlike, timid, afraid of asserting my voice, my stance.  It stems from my childhood.  I’m afraid of getting into trouble.  But this belief, is old, tiresome, out dated.

So I follow the trail to the root.  Why am I afraid to assert myself? I know it stems from my dad, as much as I love him, when I was younger he yelled a lot when I’d try and find my voice.  It made me shrink in the face of conflict, authority, or anger.  I get afraid.  But what am I afraid of?  Being rejected? Being reprimanded?  Being wrong?

I get all twisted up in another’s point of view instead of remaining grounded in my own.  I start to question my accuracy, if I’m being selfish or the purity of my intent.  I doubt myself, and my knees start to wobble, I begin to feel weak and less confident in myself and my ability to assert my boundary begins to crumble.  I give in, stay silent and cower in the face of conflict only to beat myself up for stumbling.

There’a a connection to my voice, like somehow I won’t be believed or heard or honored. inner queenThere’s an old belief that my voice won’t be listened to so I go to the extreme defense protecting myself, trying to get validated, understood, and heard from the other person. This feels like to the root of my over-active immune system (auto-immune), always on the defense, hyper-aware, hyper-vigilant for attack and I must protect myself.  But there’s a difference between being overly cautions “on the defense” with being firm, assertive, and a Queen.  Rather than protecting my fence with a metal-suited soldier, I can call upon my inner Queen to simply stand there and energetically hold her presence.  There’s no defense, there’s confidence, certainty, trust in Herself, her power, her decision.  TRUST IN HERSELF! It’s just an energy of upholding the line, not defending it.

My inner Queen says to my inner child, “Who cares!  Who cares if he rejects you, you’ve already rejected him.  He can’t reprimand you and no, your feelings are not wrong.  Do not be afraid to expect your boundaries to be respected!  That is your right.”

Expect to be respected. There is such power in that.  That is where my wound lies.  I have expected to be disrespected and prepare for this instead of standing firm in my right to be respected.  I will expect to be respected.  That just completely changes the energy of everything, don’t you think?! 🙂

“How can I feel as strong and confident as you?” my scared, child part asks my Queen.

“Put on your crown and cape little girl and believe in your own authority.”

I imagine my little girl with the crown and cape the Queen has gifted her and she feels naturally more confident and sure of herself.  She knows, she remembers, she owns that she is indeed a Queen. A Queen with power, assertion, and authority.  She commands the stage with her presence.

And so it is.

FULL MOON/ LUNAR ECLIPSE HEALING RITUAL:

Grab your journal, light a candle, put on some music and spark up an incense.  Drift inward, imagine seeing your inner child.  It’s time to dive inward to where we need balance and restoration.  It’s time to end old, wounded ways of being.

It’s time to dream, go inward and write and reflect with your magical inner world.  Get out your journals, turn on the switch to your imagination and travel into the healing gates of wonder…

1)Explore your inner parts, particularly your inner child, the wounded child.  What patterns, beliefs, wounds keep you stuck in old wounded patterns in your relationship? What does your inner child look like?  What are they wearing, what is their stance, what is their energy and presence?  What words or feelings come to mind with this part of you?

3) Think of a relationship with a certain person or people that you have been struggling with. Imagine the relationship dynamic or your presence in the relationships in the form of a landscape that reflects your boundaries and interactions within it.  What do you see and notice? What is there? What colors and images? What does this say about your patterns or wounded beliefs?

4)  Imagine seeing your inner Queen walking from her castle to this landscape. How does she move, feel and change the feeling with her presence?  What does she look like?

5) Ask her how you can heal this old pattern in your relationship or relationships and see if she will give you something, an object or objects to help you in shifting this old way of relating.

Share your experiences 🙂

And so it is!!!

This moon’s mantra.  “I assert my boundaries with ease by owning and stepping into my Inner Queen.”

How to embrace the Ch…Ch…Change on this Full Moon.

goddess of change2We are upon a full moon tomorrow….

Can you feel the call for change? Is it time to make an important choice and jump off that cliff into something new?  Can you dare and trust yourself and the Universe to give you wings and support you?  Can you trust it shall always work out…there are no wrong roads, just longer ones 🙂

It’s hard to let go of the safe and familiar isn’t it? We feel like we are in a safe cocoon, albeit, an entrapment of sameness and eventually stuckness. We like the security, the consistency, the know what to expect kinda of life.

But deep down our wild, magic souls calls to us for more, tugs us towards a golden unveiling of something new, something more expansive, something more invigorating on the soul level.  The soul craves change, craves expansion, excitement and aliveness.  This is the “joie de vivre ” in soul life.

My sister recently had to make a decision to make a change or stay in the same place she was in.  She wasn’t happy in the same but making the change required that she cut the safety net off the old, to really say good-bye to it.  She was torn as to what to do because her fear got a hold of her and zoomed her focus on what would happen if it didn’t work out.  She went right to the worse case scenario.  We’ve learned that pattern her and I but I encouraged her to approach with trust and faith in the Divine.  She would not have been gifted this opportunity if it wasn’t meant for her.  She would learn something brand new either way and this was about a positive change that yes, could be challenging but far more fulfilling. I encouraged her to take the road that had rainbows and golden sparkles on it.

I mean, what is the purpose of life really…to live on the safe, accomplished, titled, road or to take chances, follow your heart, have soul lifting experiences?  For me its’ the latter, for me it’s a life well lived, sucked dry of everything juicy it had to offer, not just checking off the “success boxes”.  We can all be “accomplished” or have the picture perfect life and job and still feel empty.  Is that the goal- external success?  That is fine and dandy but it need to be coupled with some magical experiences and feelings, and internal aliveness.   Life is not meant to be safe and mundane…we need to live, explore, expand, and stretch ourselves into new territories and see what is there.  What the heck excites your bones?  What puts sparkles in your eyes?  What song does your heart sing?

My sister,  she boldy, confidently, excitedly jumped off the cliff into the new. She’s one courageous, smart goddess.

The cosmos support this change or actually create and initiate this time of change in all our lives.  It calls us into our authenticity, into our depths where we feel alive, sparkly, magic dusted and aroused.  Make the choice that excites all of your senses.  Make the choice that scares the shit out of you but simultaneously makes your heart want to bust with excitement and giddiness.

So on this lovely Full Moon, why not do some reflective writing to deepen your trust in yourself, cause you’re fricken awesome and amazing and have all this wonderous stuff about your already and you trust that the universe is calling your greatness into life, into the world.  Why not dip your pen into the elements of trust and faith and let the universe create a matrix of wonder and excitement.  Let your pen guide you home to the place of remembering.

Full Moon Ritual change2

Go Buck Wild with this November New Moon Ritual!

nov moon1Ahhhhh…..a return to my home sign Sagittarius.  Another year of my life soon completed as my birthday fast approaches.  So much to reflect on this year….what an interesting year.

Tomorrow’s New Moon falls just as Sagittarius busts out of the gates and that’s some good and exciting news.  Us Sagittarius folk are about freedom.  Freedom…freedom…and more freedom.  We are free-spirited centaurs; half animal, half human and we love to play, explore and adventure out. We are thirsty for knowledge and know that it is through experience and exploration that we drink it in.  We are bright eyed and busy tailed, voluptuous thinkers and visionaries.  When we have an idea we run with it, not just in the farm yard but to borders and beyond.  We stretch the impossible limits with exciting visions and move towards the so called “unreachable”.  We dare to travel there, not just for the guts and glory of the pursuit but also for the radically fun ride of adventure down the trail of the unknown and un-travelled possibilities.

My statue of Goddess Tara was also an inspiration for this month’s new moon.  I typically keep her on my fireplace mantel but with Christmas Season my son wanted to put some snowmen in her spot.  So I reluctantly agreed and moved her onto my altar.  Wowza!  She’s been calling to go there.  She is the “mother of liberation” and she represents the virtues of success in work and achievements.  She governs the life, death and rebirth cycles and is often associated with Luna and the Moon cycles.  So allow Goddess Tara to see your visions, have fun and stretch those thinking limits into the realms of imagination, visioning and fun exploration for the soul.  Write down two or three goals you have for this moon cycle and sit it on your altar with some tobacco, corn meal or epson salts.  I have an offering plate where I leave my monthly moon goals and I tell ya’ they’ve been working.

NEW MOON RITUAL:  So in honor of this New Moon in Sagittarius I invite you to create a collage with all your radical, wild, free spirited visions for your life.  Go ahead, write them down, collage them, see them…and dare to dream them.  Have fun, play, and make visible your wild and free wishes.  Dare to dream the unthinkable and go for it.

Life is but an adventure, so embrace the Sagittarius energy and go buck wild in the adventurous realms of your soul.  Let yourself be sagittariously free spirited and charge into new visions and ideas.

Enjoy, it will be a great month.

Take a Shamanic Journey to the Moon Lodge on the 3 Days of the Full Moon

moon lodgeThis full moon is really different for me.  I am very reflective and inward, likely because we are shifting into the dark months, going inward and into the bear cave as winter approaches.  I usually move my energy out in a sacred art format but I am not on this full moon.  I am still moving my energy but in an inward way.

So join me, and take a ride inward and come to the collective Moon Lodge where all sisters, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and daughters celebrate the full moon.  Close your eyes and walk down a trial until you see the world’s largest tipi up the road.   Isn’t it beautiful!?  Walk into the opening and inside.   It is dark and lit with candles so you can see.  Notice there is a large magical bowl in the middle with magical moon beams swirling within it.  It looks like colorful magic dust dancing spinning around as it sparkles.  Find your spot on the mossy ground around the magical moon bowl and rest that beautiful self.  Take in some breaths and enjoy the smell of sweet grass, eucalyptus and sage in the air.  Let it calm and soothe you with each breath.  Notice your sacred garments of clothing that you wear on these special Women’s Tribe ceremonies and shoot yourself a smile for being so rad and Sacred!  Peak out the top of the tipi where there is opening and see the moon shining brightly in the dark night sky.  See the stars sing just as brightly next to the big, bright full moon.

If you’re like me and your menstruating with the full moon, allow yourself to bleed on the mossy grounds as we used to in our tribes and allow Mother Earth to regenerate all that you shed into energy for Her renewal, healing and vitality.  If you are not simply imagine any energy that needs to be released to surrender into the ground.   Watch other women in the tipi go to the magical bowl at the center of the moon lodge and emptying their emotional cargo bags.  Notice too how they are taking with them a sacred object after they empty their bags.  Join me and drag your bag across the floor.  Look down into the magical bowl and see how it it’s like a deep portal, a large vast emptiness into another world.

“The grandmothers will take care your cargo,” the women in the lodge say, “but you need to do your work with it too.”

So let us learn from what is in our emotional bags.   Empty your bag and see what falls out, notice how it just floats there above the bowl for you to see.  What is it trying to teach you or tell you?  What message does it have for you in your soul’s journey and evolution?  Take your journal out as describe what you see….  Write about it’s purpose and message for you…honor it and take time to tend to it.

Watch it vanish into the Earth Mother and into another dimension.  They have left for you an object to help you tend to the emotional cargo that has surfaced.   It too is floating in the bowl, waiting for you to grab.   Just allow yourself to see it and bring it to your heart.

Sit back down on the mossy ground and just be with your Sacred object that was given to you by the grandmothers.   Sit and enjoy the magic of being with other women who are honoring their Feminine Ways with Grandmother Moon as she shines full and bright, signalling to us to see our own internal landscapes.  Just really absorb the joy of gathering, even in spirit, with the women’s tribe. Lay some tobacco from your pouch and put it on the ground in gratitude to the Great Mother Earth and the Grandmothers…

Get up and walk clockwise around the magical bowl and outside of the tipi.  Take the trail back to the now and gently open your eyes and move your hands and feet.

Be sure to journal and share your experience.

And so it is…

Aho!

Happy Full Moon.

“The Obsession with Thinness & Body Hatred is Really Code for This…”

sacred body 2One of the lost teachings of the Sacred Feminine in our society is the love and reverence for our Sacred, life giving bodies.  We live in a culture that idolizes thinness and somehow our brains get trained to believe if we are not a certain size or weight, we are then not beautiful.  We are setup to be in war with our bodies, as though it is a separate entity we must dominate.  We treat them like prisoners, telling them what to do, be, when, how and where rather than operate within a sacred union with them.

I believe we have missed the mark, and lost the message.  We are getting our wires crossed thinking that these obsessive thoughts of perfection, thinness and weight loss are what’s important.  The obsession and even addiction to thinness is showing up as body hatred and low self-esteem in our young girls and in our women populations in alarming and growing numbers.

Body hatred and the addiction to thinness are code words that we have lost connection to our fiery, Feminine souls.  We do not really hate our bodies, we don’t even know them and we don’t feel fat.  Fat is not a feeling!  Usually we feel anxious, despair, or out of control and we then turn on the body and blame Her as though she were the culprit for those feelings.  The reality is our pain body is triggered through an outside circumstance, maybe a breakup or a failed interview and we suddenly feel the terrible fear that we are unlovable or unworthy.  Now, guess who gets the blame?  Yup, your body!   We don’t go to the source of the wound and sit with it; instead we shift our attention away from what is occurring within the body and focus on the outside aspects of the body such as size and shape as the problem.  We think “If only were nine pounds lighter, maybe he would have loved me”  or “God I’m fat, it’s probably why I didn’t get that job” and that somehow translates to us believing that losing those nine pounds will make us loveable and worthy.

We then look in the mirror and focus on the parts of our body we hate and go on an abusive rampage and plan the next fourteen day diet and fitness bootcamp.  We believe thinness equals success, control and power and that attaining thinness will mean we are worthy, loveable and adequate.  We do this in the name of distracting away from the true deep inner wound that is still sitting inside, we are living without connection to our feminine souls.   It’s an illusion, a metaphorical and destructive pattern we must break.

What is truly occurring is a desperate grasp for control when our feminine, tribal soul is rattling the cage inside.  She wants out of the cage and into your life but we have forgotten that she even exists and that we’ve caged her up.  Or we are simply terrified of what she’d do to our lives if we’d set her free.  Let’s stop the madness ladies, not just for ourselves but for our young girls who are watching us.  Let’s get down to the nitty gritty where the true discomfort lies…our souls are calling for freedom and for connection and she won’t take no for an answer anymore.  The lost feminine Goddess is awakening and she is showing up as anxiety, as restlessness, as a feeling of terror, and a spinning sensation of being out of control.   She is showing up as weigh pre-occupation, eating disorders and body hatred.  She is calling to you through depression or unknown heavy sadness that we don’t understand.  Your soul is calling for release and freedom, she wants into your life and now!

So, I invite you this week to reach your hand out to that Feminine Goddess /Tribal Woman within and take her hand.  Let her know you hear her and a willing to begin unlocking the cage she has been trapped in for years.

A Sacgrandmotherred Art Practice for the remembering the Sacred Body.

Go outside and take a walk with your body.   This is not about calorie burning, it is about being in union with your Sacred Body.  Imagine she is a Wise Women, a Grandmother of the Tribe, and she is trying to teach you and guide you.  Can you listen to her?  Can you let her guide you rather than trying to control and dominate her?  What does she say?  What does she want to tell you?  What feelings does she have and why are they important for you to know?  What are they trying to tell you and guide you? How does it feel to follow her lead and walk beside her?

Now imagine transforming into the Sacred and Wise Grandmother within your body, step as out in the world as her.  Keep walking as your Sacred Self in your Sacred Body. Notice what it feels like to walk in union and in honor of your body rather than in dominance and command of your body.  Just be with her in union and enjoy the outdoors.

Please share your experiences on the Women’s Tribe Weekly Sacred Art Practice Page.

Enjoy my friends!

What is a Spiritual Practice & How Do I Get Me One of Those?

SACRED ART2One of my bff’s recently asked me what I do for my spiritual practice.  It sent me on a bunny trail of thoughts about what that really means.  For me a spiritual practice is about self-connection.  When I am connected to the deepest part of me, I am connected to the Divine.

It is a moment, activity or ritual that unites me with the deepest part of myself, the place of the God & the Goddess within me, the place the universe resides on my insides.  It feels calm and centered while being simultaneously alive and energetic.  I feel a tingling and an inspiration, a presence of sorts.  I feel part of the collective, as though the stars, the trees, and the moon were all extensions of myself, mirrors of my divinity and sacredness.   It is a process of enjoying the magic of right now, in this moment just as it is.  Even doing dishes can be a spiritual practice if we approach it with intention, presence and prayer.

So for me, how I practice my spirituality is really how I get self-connected.  I have a hankering for Sacred Art – creative expressions reflecting my internal processes or creative tools to connect me with the divine.  I have a deep inner need to share my inner emotions and experiences with magic or the Sacred.  I believe as women especially this is a natural, instinctual need.  We must gather and encourage each other to go inside and connect.  We must share our experiences with each other and voice what is raw, natural and authentic within.  Our tribal souls are calling for release and expression.

Ritual for me is essential as well, it grounds me in the here and now and allows for spiritual contemplation in my everyday life.  I’ve been working hard in uniting the Sacred in everyday life.  You may want to check my article on How to be a Bad-Ass Goddess While You Mop Your Floors to explore more of what I mean.

My spiritual practice is this, creativity, creativity, creativity, and silence, stillness, writing, reflection and ritual.  I write rituals for the new and full moon and bring them into my family life.  I involve my children and my husband rather than segregating spirituality separate from my everyday life, I want it in my life.  Creativity has always been my portal there, it moves me to a place of magic and inspiration, a place where I connect to the Sacred simply by connecting to my insides and the Sacred and Divine within me.

What I’ve come to learn is this, it takes some preparation, some planning and some intention to create a spiritual practice.  Sometimes you need art supplies or incents or even a candle.  You need a weekly plan, it helps make it happen.  If your like me, you can have all the intention in the world, but if you ain’t got a plan, it likely won’t happen, you likely won’t squeeze it in when the kids are napping or in between loads of laundry.  We need a time, date and place.

So I offer you this, join me in Weekly Sacred Art Spiritual Practices by adding yourself to my email list or by following the blog.  I will send you a weekly Sacred Art/Spiritual practice to encourage you to build your Spiritual Practice and thus your ability to self-connect.  I will propose a time we can all meet in the dreamtime and cyber space and know that we are all sharing in our spiritual practice of self-connection.

I remember meeting a new mom friend when my son was just a baby.  She lived only two houses down from me and when I was up at 3am doing a feeding, knowing she too was up likely doing a feeding I felt less alone.  So let’s unite in our need and desire to self-connect and meet weekly on Tuesdays to self-connect at 8pm.  I’ll post a supply list a few days before so we can prepare.

I genuinely believe the more you connect to your insides, the more health and well-being, peace and contentment you will have in your life.  It will show up as peace and fulfillment.

Let’s create, connect and share together as we set the intention to self-connect with Sacred Art.  And so it is.

WeeklySACRED ART Sacred Art Practice:  “SELF-PORTRAITS – A LOOK WITHIN.”

Using collage, paint, coloring, crayons or any means you wish create an image that reflects you, your soul, your deepest self.  If you were take a snap shot of who you are from within, what would that look like?  Use words, colors and images to best represent this image.  Please share on our Group Page by clicking here.

How to Be a Bad-Ass Goddess While you Mop Your Floors

For a long ticleansing goddessme I struggled with an internal segregation.  It felts as though my spiritual practice were separate from my everyday life.  I’d go into Spirit as an escape from my life, although it was an addiction, a place of refuge.   Spirituality sure can be a safe container to retreat and restore but it set my thought process to believe my everyday life was boring, mundane, even a place of suffering.  Somehow it was less Sacred.

And finally a light bulb went off.  I could unite both Spirit and everyday life.  Duh!!!  Spirit is in everyday life, every tree, every branch, every rock.  Why couldn’t it be in my everyday tasks? I had set the intention to unite both my inner and outer worlds, this was another piece of the puzzle.   It was about celebrating the Sacred in my everyday life and in my every day responsibilities.  It’s about staying connected to the Divine in the here and now, whatever the moment is.  It’s about making things fun and enjoyable by adding a little magic to the routine.  All we need is a little fun and creativity.

So get out your mop buckets and follow along.  Fill it as you would with water.  Add any special cleaner you like or half a cup to a full cup of vinegar.  Add just a bit of lovely and refreshing herbs for cleansing such as rosemary, sage, cedar and or sweetgrass.   Cut a lemon or lime in half, squeeze and release in the bucket.   Feel free to add drops of tea tree oil or sage oil as well.  Drop in a cinnamon stick or two for the fun of it. Stir the bucket with your mop as though you were a witch stirring her cauldron, mixing all the cleansing properties together into a Sacred Cleaner.  Rub your hands together for a minute or two and build heat.  Now place your hand over your mop and pail and say a cleansing prayer.

“Great Spirit, Creator, Mother Earth and Father Sky, all my ancestors, spirit animals and all beings who love me, I ask you to hear me now.  I ask you please to help me cleanse my home of any stuck energy, negativity or any other energy that is not of love and not of light.  I ask you to fill my home with love, luck, prosperity and health as I clean the grounds our family walks.   This I ask in the name of love.  Aho!”

As you begin to clean your floors, feel the importance of your sacred ritual of cleansing your home, not only of germs but of energy.   You are a Divine presence in your home and in your family.   Your work is so important, so celebmopping goddessrate and acknowledge it.   Feel your importance in your family and in your home.  Feel your divinity as you mop and cleanse the floors, transforming fear based energy into light and love.  You are a healer, a transformer of stuck energy into flowing, glowing light.  Put on some upbeat music and rock it out as your cleanse.   You are bad-ass, so indulge in the wonderful, edgy energy of it! Imagine the music notes invoking energy, radiance and joy in the air and through the walls with every dance and cleaning move.  I encourage you to bring it all the way home and wear your goddess type jewelry or scarves as you make cleaning into a sacred ritual and cleansing ceremony.  Enjoy the process and have fun with it.  Imagine your home being filled with love and radiant golden beams of light . Let yourself see flowers, roses, pinks, reds, purples and greens growing on your walls and through the air, spreading love and positivity in the air as you sway your mop back and forth over floor.

(If you only have floor in a small area of your home, take this practice to your base boards and cleanse all the areas in your home. )

Feel and enjoy the Sacred Art of mopping your floors as your awesome, colorful, bad-ass Goddess Self.  Allow the process to invoke joy and sweet laughter into your home as you cleanse with joyful, fun, bad-ass Goddess energy.

You go girl!  And so it is.  Enjoy!

How to make your Soul Dance.

What Inspires You?

For me….

The moment the Sun is setting and it looks like a giant orange ball on the edge of the sky.

My son’s smile and the innocence in his eyes.

A new recipe.

A new book.

My dogs affection and excitement when seeing me for the first time in three hours.

Stillness of a tree.

The bushels of canola in the farm field beside me springing a beautiful sea of the color yellow.

The wind cooling my hot face.

My first cup of coffee in the morning.

The moon shining in the sky.

When we are inspired, our soul perks up, like the beginning stages of a fire when we are trying to get it spark and burn.  From an energetic perspective, a vivid rainbow of colors dance through us and around us as our soul energy is released and able to dance freely and playfully.  We feel energetic and excited from the inside.   A good word:  Giddy!  We must regularly move this energy out into the world, we must keep the fire burning, so to speak.  Whether it be in making a recipe, a journal entry, a dance,  singing a song, taking a picture or a fun collage, we must be creative for our Soul Health.  When we tap into our creative juices, our soul feels fed and that inner emptiness and restlessness vanishes.  Now that’s good Soul Food.!!!

PRAYER STICKS.

Above is a picture of a bunch of prayer sticks that many people made at Ghost Ranch while in Lynn Andrews Sacred Art and Healing training.  We make a prayer and put it on a stick through color, beading, feathers, paint, words, string or whatever inspires us.  It is an intention to the universe and we plant it into the soul.   I have prayer sticks in my back yard for various reasons.  I invite you to make a Prayer Stick for whatever tickles your fancy.  Perhaps its’ for a loved one who is in need of love, perhaps it’s for a goal you’d like manifested, or perhaps it’s for better health.  Use your inspiration, no rules, a create a way.  All you need is love, an prayer or intention and some soil.

How are you inspired and how to you express it?  Leave a comment.

 Happy soul feeding Women’s Tribe!!!
