Writing Wild – Day 3 of the Wild, Luscious Soulful Living Challenge

writing wildHere we are day 3 of our Wildly, Luscious, Soulful Living 30 Day Challenge.  (Join anytime ).

Winter is finally withdrawing her grip and allowing spring to slowly and gently emerge here in Manitoba, Canada.   As such, I thought today was a good day to write, but not just any writing, wild writing!  Get your  rubber boots on ladies and gents, we’re in for a fun ride…or walk 😉

I’d like to start by taking a walkabout outside.  Let your imagination stretch and walk out as your wild wolf self.  You are sniffing for an object…a stick, a stone, a leaf or a budding flower, any element of nature or the Earth that calls to you.  It can be a puddle or a pile of mud.   Just let the energies hit your nostrils as though they were rising up and calling you, pulling you towards them with their sweet smells.  You’re ravenous for soul food, you’re sniffing around for your survival. Let your your primal forces lead you to nourishment.

See where your drawn.  What catches your eye?  What do you notice?  If you move towards it or your hand reaches for it, you know it is calling you.  Which element or earth object is calling you loudest?  Where to you keep returning?

Once you’ve found it, if you can pick up that object and take it with you.  If you can’t take a picture of it so you can savor in its sweet memory as we write with its’ energies. Always thank the Earth Mother for her offering to you, send some loving energy from your hands down towards Her or even leave a strand of your hair as an offering to her.

Once back inside, get yourself seated, able to write and ready to take an imaginative journey.  Have your pen and paper and if you’re up for it light a candle and some incense.

Close your eyes and hold the object your found in your hands or in your mind’s eye if you took a picture of it.  Feel its energy and imagine it held its own spirit, it was alive with energy.  Imagine this were a helper spirit, sent to help you just like a fairy or angel might assist you. It’s been sent your way to share its energies with you and gift you a message.  Really absorb and feel it with each fiber of your being.

Wild Writing Prompts.  – no thinking just writing!  Set your pen and gooooo………..

Everything is energy, everything is alive.  Feel it, indulge in the elements, ignite your senses. Connect to the world around you.  Everything is of you and you are of everything.  Love and life is everywhere, sniff it in!!

– Why did you choose this object?  How did it call to you?

– What does the energy of your alive object feel like? Imagine it were a Sacred Being, an alive person, what would you say you feel about the energy of this soul? What are its’ traits?

– Imagine this object could speak to you, what would it say?

– How does this alive object reflect an element of yourself?

  1. It surprised me how perfect this exercise was for me today. I did the exercise without even doing it and at the same time when I sat down tonight to do it I was annoyed with myself for not doing it perfectly. In reality I did it without making any effort really. This gives me faith that I will get the assistance I am asking for. Thank you so much! You must have read my mind. 🙂

    1. It’s funny how each exercise really carries its’ own portal of learning. This is experiential learning and it has so much depth…so glad it connected for you Ang. Every time I did sacred art for Lynn Andrews, the teachings, the process, the learning was ten fold. So deep. Yay!! 🙂

  2. I found the object and observed and devoured it thoroughly. Unfortunately it was taken away the very next day. 😦
